Guest kevinbarbee Report post Posted 11/30/2006 07:51 AM Hi-- I'm trying the software before buying. I can't get my modem to answer. There is no event log. The modem is an Intel® 537EP V9x DF PCI Modem, Dell desktop, lots of memory etc. Any ideas? Thanks! --Kevin Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/30/2006 08:02 AM Does the VoiceGuide status window shows that modem is "Waiting for a Call.." ? Are you sure the modem supports "Voice" features? If you are serious about setting up a system you should probably stop spending your time on getting a modem working and just go ahead and buy a Dialogic card. If you want to spend time to figure out what is happening do the below: Could you please post a copy of VoiceGuide's Trace Logs which captures the problem, this will allow us to see what is happening. Enable logging by setting the log levels to 10 in VG.INI as per below: [Log] VoiceGuide=10 NumberLoader=0 VoicemailManager=0 EmailSender=0 TapiWrapOcx=10 SapiWrapOcx=0 Then restart VG and make a test call. Trace files will be created in VG's \log\ subdirectory. Please post the traces. When posting traces/scripts please .ZIP them up and post them as attachments. Share this post Link to post
Guest kevinbarbee Report post Posted 12/01/2006 01:13 AM Thanks for your reply. The status is "waiting for call" and the log is empty. Is there a way to try out the software without having a Dialogic card or voice modem? I just really want to see how easy it is to program, and if the software is capable of supporting my ideas, and if I am capable of using the software (skill level wise). Any suggestions? Thanks, Kevin Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/01/2006 02:32 AM The status is "waiting for call" and the log is empty. This means that he modem is not reporting any incoming calls or any other activity on the line.... Either the modem is faulty or the telephone line does not work. It's easy to check the phone line - just attach it to a handset instead of the modem and see if the handset rings.
